Rugby NSW is to oversee three fortnightly Warrumbungle Towns Rugby Sevens junior events to be held across November and December.

Four towns around the Warrumbungles will be represented over three nights: Gilgandra and Gulargambone will play together facing against Coonabarabran, and Coonamble.

Under 13s, under-11s, and under-nines’ teams will be playing. All players are welcome.

The first games will be played on Friday, November 15 at Gilgandra on Ernie Knight Oval.

The second set of games will be held on Friday, November 29 at Coonabarabran, Number One Oval.

The third and final event is planned for Friday, December 13 at Coonamble Sportsground.

All kick-offs are at 5.00 pm.

Rugby NSW development officer Mark Pitts gave comment on the upcoming event.

“[This event] is not a club associated event… it’s for community engagement,” he said.

“Everyone is welcome regardless of skill. This is an opportunity for people who haven’t played rugby to give it a try.

“Sevens is a great way [to get into rugby]. It’s fast, it’s a lot of fun, and there’s a lot of ball contact.”

Those interested can register through the Fair Dinkum app or call Mark Pitts to register directly.

Late registrations will be taken on the morning of each day.
