Role Overview: The Community Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with community members and stakeholders, driving initiatives to generate income and business opportunities for The Gilgandra Weekly. This role requires a dynamic individual who excels in communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with local community groups, businesses, and other stakeholders.
Develop and implement strategies to increase advertising revenue and business partnerships.
Organise and attend community events to promote The Gilgandra Weekly and identify new business opportunities.
Act as a liaison between The Gilgandra Weekly and the community, ensuring open and effective communication.
Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure community voices and stories are represented in the newspaper.
Monitor and report on community engagement activities and their impact on business growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven experience in community engagement, public relations, or a related field.
Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using social media and other digital platforms for community engagement.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with the Gilgandra community and local issues is highly desirable.
