The Railway Hotel officially reopened its doors on Thursday, August 20 much to locals' delight.

Open from 10am until late, the newly acquired staff were inundated with excited locals and curious travellers looking for a cold beer and a hot meal.

New barmaid, Emma Reagan, said that the biggest feedback she has received from people is about how relieved they are that the pub will continue to operate and not close.

Much of the pub's history and charm has remained in tack, with the infamous bullet hole in the roof still standing and the original cellar still in place.

By 5pm, the hotel began to fill up with owner and manager, Donna Sant saying they were expecting over 100 people to turn out.

A lucky door prize was also in play, with free merchandise being given out to those who walked through the door after 5.30pm and before 6pm.

One of the pubs biggest draws is its "atmosphere". With a lack of pokies and gambling, the pub boasts a family friendly venue for all to enjoy.

Furry friends also enjoyed the reopening on Thursday with one special pooch, Izzy, coming to enjoy the sunset on the pub's patio.

Staff and management have plenty of plans in place for the Railway Hotel such as bringing back the footy tipping, darts, and a pool competition.

It is safe to say that the Railway Hotel is back and ready to set itself as a regular hotspot for locals once more.
