Harness Racing – the Barrie Batten owned and trained Barlor Troubador salutes in Dubbo, paying $15 for the win.
Little Athletics – a number of Gilgandra Little A’s enjoy competing at the Dubbo New Year’s Carnival. They included Caitlin Carlow, Dylen Murray, Mitchell Carlow, Kelsey Hutchison, Rhyan Hutchison and Lachlan Riley. Many of the Gilgandra competitors came away winning medals in their various events.
Racing – The Gilgandra Cup race meeting attracts a good crowd despite rainy conditions at the track. Kangaroos on the golf course caused a delay to the start of the day racing and the wet conditions were a factor in four jockeys hitting the turf throughout the day.
Cricket – Gulargambone led the Bendigo Bank ABC Shield cricket competition with 68 points, followed by Biddon-Tooraweenah on 62, Eumungerie 51, Town-Services 48, Baradine 44, Marthaguy 44, Curban 42, Mendooran 40, Coonabarabran 40.
