Australia got to watch a legend in the making claim victory for the first time on our shores on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

The event was the Australian Darts Masters, hosted in Wollongong across two days (August 8 and 9), and 18-year-old Luke Littler came away with the title, beating Belgium’s Mike De Decker 8-4 in the final.

The crowd loved every moment, and it felt like we were watching history being made.

Luke Littler has only been in the spotlight for a couple of years, but what he’s achieved already is just unbelievable.

He’s won 15 Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) titles, four World Series titles, three Players Championships and plenty more all before turning 19.

Some players go their whole careers without winning that many trophies, and he’s done it in just over a year.

His journey to stardom really kicked off in 2024, when he qualified for the PDC World Championships.

Not only did he make it to the final, but he became the youngest player in history to do so. That was the moment the darts world knew Luke Littler wasn’t just a rising star, he was the real deal. In just over a year, he’s earned almost two million pounds from major tournaments alone.

His estimated net worth is already around six million pounds and remember, this is someone who’s still a teenager.

Most people his age are just finishing school or starting university, but Luke is travelling the world, playing in front of thousands of fans, and winning huge titles.

Off the stage, Luke’s personality makes him even more popular. When he was 16, his way of celebrating a win was with a vape and a bottle of juice.

Now that he’s 18, he can raise a pint of Guinness to toast his victories and you can bet there will be plenty more to celebrate. Beer is a performance enhancer for darts I think.

The Wollongong crowd saw not just a great player, but a future legend who’s changing the game.

If this is what he’s doing at 18, just imagine where he’ll be in 10 years. More titles, more records, and maybe even more Guinness.

Luke Littler isn’t just playing darts he’s rewriting the history books. And now, he’s got an Australian title to add to his incredible story.
