Rugby League – Ash Hazelton is selected in the Western Rams side to play in the Country Rugby League Championship whilst Pink Panther, Shay Naden also gains Western Rams honours being named in the Western Rams League Tag representative team.

Netball – Gilgandra’s Far West Academy of Sport netballers Rebecca Gaff, Tahnee Carr, Cassie Nolan and Talitha Ashby travel to Cobar to participate in a FWAS coaching clinic.

Golf – much needed rain affected the Gilgandra Ladies Open tournament, with the course being quite heavy going. Some of the local players to receive trophies were Glad Harvey, Maree Townsend, Janelle Horwood, Shiralee Bone, Jenny Rodway, Marg Harris and Pat Lummis.

Rugby Union – on a greasy paddock the Gulargambone Galahs keep the reigning premiers, the Walgett Rams scoreless when they upset them 26 to nil in an impressive performance.

Sports Shearing – three Gilgandra athletes gain selection in the NSW team. They were Racheal Hutchison (wool rolling), Michael Newton (shearing) and Emma Hutchison (wool handling).
