Veterans
We had 11 Veterans on Thursday afternoon who played a nine-hole stroke. The winner on the day was Nick White with a 32 ½ nett. Second went to Andy Harris with 35½ nett. Jim L'Homme came in third with 35½ nett. Rob Hay won the nearest the pin. Marty Cross got the average ball.
Least amount of putts went to Andy Harris who had 11 putts for his game.
Saturday’s 18-hole par
Saturday we played an 18 hole par which was sponsored by Gil Services Club. We had 20 golfers.
Mark Barwick won the day with +1. Bill Welsh came in second with an even score for his round. Peter Corby had -1 to get him third place.
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin winners were: 2/11 - Ash Hazleton, 4/13 - Nick Wright, 7/16 - Mick Wilson. Nick Wright got himself an eagle on the 12th hole.
Saturday’s matchplay results
Ian Lambell 3 and 2 defeated Lyle Horwood. Nick Wright defeated Mick Wilson on the 21st Hole.
Andy Harris 3 and 2 defeated Marty Cross. Bill Welsh 1-up defeated John McWhirter.
Sunday’s 18-hole stableford
Sunday we had 14 players who contested an 18-hole stableford. The winner was Quentin Karaitiana with 36 points. Ian Dent came in second with 35 points.
Rob Hay came in third on a countback from Nick Wright and Bill Welsh, all three golfers had 33 points for their game.
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Nick Wright as he came within 43 centimetres of the hole, which netted him the super pin.
