Gilgandra Golf Club News - Mother's Day luck
It was another busy week on the fairways at Gilgandra Golf Club.

Veterans
On Thursday, May 7 we had 10 veterans who played a nine-hole stroke. The winner on the day was club captain Geoff Lummis with 33 1/2 nett. Second place went to Bob Dwyer with 36 nett. Coming in third was John McWhirter with 36 1/2 nett.
There were three other golfers who had the same score. They were Maree Townsend, Andy Harris and Gil Riley.
Jim L'Homme won the average ball.
We had three players who had 12 putts for their round, the winner on a countback was Andy Harris from Mark Barwick and Bob Dwyer.
Weekend Golf
On Saturday, May 9, we had a great field of 26 golfers who played an 18-hole stableford which was sponsored by Gilgandra Pharmacy.
The winner was Nick Wright with 37 points. Dylan Wright came in second with 36 points. Third place went to Bill Welsh with 35 points.
We had three players who had 33 points, they were Mark Hinchcliffe, Maree Townsend, and Andy Harris.
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Rob Hay.
Matchplay results for Saturday: Mark Hinchcliffe 4 and 3 defeated Lex Scotti. Dylan Wright 3 and 1 defeated Tiger Pearce. Nick Wright 2 and 1 defeated Gil Riley. Bill Welsh 3 and 2 defeated Stan Doyle.
On Mother's Day Sunday, we played an 18-hole Par. We had nine golfers play on the day.
The winner on the day was Lucie Wightman with an even-round score, she won on a countback from Matt Zell and Nick White who had the same score.
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Ash Hazleton as he came within 90 centimetres of the hole.
