Wednesday’s Social Bowls
There were 13 bowlers for social bowls last Wednesday, May 13. The winners with the lowest winning margin were Dave Jones, Garry Garbutt (swinger) and Bruce Parker who defeated James L’Homme and Steve Jarvey, 15-14.
In other games Jeff Jones and Rod Howchin defeated Wayne Morris and Bob Rogers, 24-8. Jayden Doran and Trevor gained the win against Mal Altmann and Paul Morris, 18–10.
Weekend Bowls
On Sunday, May 17, 14 bowlers took to the greens.
The winners of the afternoon were three likely lads being Bruce Parker, Dave Jones and Shaun Marchant who rounded up Lyn Tate, Adam Tincknell and Baden Fisher, 23-7.
In the remaining games, a win went to Norm Lummis and Dylan Marchant who defeated Mal Altmann and Wenden Riley, 14-7, while Mouse Holland and Tracey Riley gained the victory over Jill Hankins and Brent McKenzie, 17-12.
If you see Shauny Marchant getting around with his chest out this week the reason would be, not only winning Sunday social bowls, but also his beloved Sharkies mauled the poor little doggies on Friday night, 38-16.
Added to that in the past week Shauny has won two meat trays, a longneck, and a $10 voucher.
At that rate it might be worth going halves in a lottery ticket with him while the luck lasts, which mightn’t be very long.
The draw for the Triples Championships has been completed with games to commence this coming weekend.
